Drawing Fundamentals 4 Plus Mixed Media (Sat)
Drawing Fundamentals 4 moves beyond skill-building into a more independent and exploratory studio practice. Students apply their drawing foundation to sophisticated projects involving perspective, composition, drawing from life, and original design. Greater emphasis is placed on developing ideas, planning compositions, solving visual challenges, and making independent artistic decisions. Drawing also becomes a foundation for exploring watercolour, alcohol inks, and mixed media such as collage and visual journaling. Students learn to combine materials and techniques in thoughtful ways, experimenting with layering, texture, colour, and different surfaces to create more complex and personal artwork. Guided instruction and individualized feedback support each student in refining technique, taking creative risks, and developing a stronger artistic voice.
Pre-requisite: Ideal for students with two or more years of previous art instruction at Aliki's Art House. Students with previous drawing experience are also welcome; a brief consultation is recommended before registration.
Each student receives a personal sketchbook to use throughout the course. Required studio materials are provided for use during class. Artwork is completed over the year, creating a portfolio that reflects each student's artistic growth, experimentation, and developing personal style.
