ABCs of Drawing: Art Meets Early Literacy

ABCs of Drawing is a playful introduction to art and early literacy designed especially for young artists ages 4 -6 years old.  Homeschool families are welcome to inquire about older siblings joining as well.

Using visual vocabulary of simple lines and shapes, children learn to draw recognizable images while making meaningful connections between letters, sounds, and pictures. Songs, movement, stories, and hands-on activities bring each lesson to life and make learning feel natural and fun. Through progressive, step-by-step projects, students explore colour, texture, and a variety of art materials. Along the way, they strengthen fine motor skills, focus, confidence, and their ability to follow directions—all while discovering the joy of creating and learning through art.

Required studio materials are provided for use during class. Artwork is completed throughout the session and displayed on the walls of our NW Calgary studio.  On the final class, we invite parents to a Gallery Presentation where we "show-off" each student's colourful collection and celebrate each child's learning and creativity.
