This camp is geared to students who are beginning their artistic journey. Our focus for the week is learning about different styles of drawing (from realistic to abstract) while being exposed to a variety of materials. Throughout the week, students will learn the foundational skill of drawing using a sequential 7 step system.

Pre-Requisite: Students must have previously attended at least one summer art camp or have taken at least one year of regular weekly classes.

Beyond Basics is essentially a drawing camp however, we will be drawing using a variety of media...everything from charcoal to dried flowers. Each art piece will be an independent project that will incorporate foundational drawing skills, previously learned, with lots of room for creative expression.

This camp is for those who have taken both the Beginner and Intermediate camps.

Ages: 7-16

Dates: August 13-17, August 20-24

We are very excited to once again be offering this camp which will provide students with many interesting sculpting techniques. Projects will be announced closer to the camp date and will likely include clay, assemblage, paper mache, mask making and relief sculpture.

Whether a student is skilled at sculpture already or new to the 3-D world, this class will have your child creating with confidence in no time. Please note that this is not a craft camp. The knowledge gained in the short week will truly amaze you and your child. Students will be taught to sculpt the way an actual real artist would sculpt.
Students may register for both sculpting camps.
